MY ROAD TO REIKI

I didn’t start from Reiki. I started from coming from Poland to England in 2009 with sense of desperation and hope that something in my life will change. It was a time when in my area, there were a couple of gift shops, which attracted me, though I didn’t understand why. I felt safe there, I felt at peace every time I came for a visit. I turned out that the owners were Reiki practitioners. This was my first encounter with this energy and modality. But back then, restricted in my personal and religious beliefs, I only felt attracted, but didn’t dare to explore why.

I’ve become a carer for the elderly, assisting often in their suffering, and sometimers in their dying. I’ve been in this role and in the environment of care for years. And while still working in a nursing home, I’ve started to collaborate with the small charity foundation, which consequently helped me to come out a bit more from my shell. I’ve done for about a year online consultations as a volunteer, and then it came a time for the next huge step: a professional online course in Academy of Systemic Constellation Therapy. This experience, and group sessions during the course and soon after, helped me to gain the knowledge about generational trauma and hidden patterns which are operating in families – and sometimes even destroying them.

The knowledge gained on the course in the Academy I’m using up to this day, even in my Reiki sessions with the clients, because very often they are coming with their issues, questions, trauma... it’s a great skill and a gift to be able to stay present when someone else is experiencing difficult emotions. But that’s the skill in my opinion absolutely essential for anyone who’s working with people.

Four years ago, something attracted me to the child care, and that’s how my most profound journey of understanding childhood trauma and its influence began. I’ve become Children, Young People and Families Practitioner. And reiki found me again on my path. This time, I’ve answered the call. I’ve become Reiki Practitioner.

I could use my knowledge about trauma and emotions on completely different level. Surprisingly, Reiki path opened not only my potential to feeling energy and energy healing, but to the gifts which I was afraid to even recognise before in me, such as clairvoyance and channeling. Today, I still work with the young people with special needs, and Reiki helped me to connect with them even more. Today, I’m that calming presence which helps others the way it helped me years back in the local gift shops.

So, my road to Reiki turned out to be a whole circle. And it was the most amazing journey to myself.
